Through these modules, the learner will Explore key features & functions of Google applications & various District resources, and Apply their skills to create functional items applicable to their position.
ANALYZE:
How do you know there is a need for your course: With Google Apps new to the district, teachers are exploring its use. The librarian and tech teacher are using Apps with students, and staff also need to be able to use the same features with those same students.
What types of learning you seek to achieve: The mini-lessons would serve two purposes. One, to provide direct instruction on to the use of the tool. Two, to provide the learner with samples of use to inspire their own exploration of uses of the tool.
What prerequisite knowledge will be needed: Pre-knowledge using a browser, logging into and accessing their Google account, prior experience with MS Office products would be provide background knowledge that could be applied.
Who is your learner and what are her needs: The focus learners are students in grades 5 and up, and teaching staff. Additional learners could be parents, and students possibly down to grade 3 as that is when student accounts are first created.
